The Strip

The Strip is one of the first places you'll want to check out when you get to Vegas. Technically, it's part of South Las Vegas Boulevard, and it's lined thickly with hotels, casinos, and restaurants. It's seriously crowded most of the time, day and night as travellers walk up and down taking in the lights and heading for the Welcome to Fabulous Vegas, Nevada's sign so they can grab a photo. It's not rare for some travellers to visit Vegas and never step outside The Strip.

It's also not impossible that some have even visited Vegas and only stepped a few times into the street, because a lot of the hotels on the Strip are linked by indoor walkways and similar. What you'll most likely enjoy a lot about the hotels as you walk through them is the many, many shops you'll be able to pop into. Lots of these hotels are uniquely themed, for example Circus Circus with it's indoor roller coaster that you'll probably want to try out! If you're going to walk around The Strip or through the hotels, you'll very much want to wear proper shoes.

No need for hiking boots, but if you end up far from where you started and can't walk a step further, you should be aware that you cannot legally hail taxis from the sidewalk of The Strip. If you're not being literal though, you'll easily find rows and rows of them outside any hotel! While you're there, you'll never be far from something that's trying to imitate one of the highlights from other capitals you've visited, and do check out the Luxor Hotel with it's famous replica Pyramid. If you like video games, the Luxor also has a very exciting Esports area with daily competitions that you can buy passes for.
