S F Bartlett Elementary School Reviews

This School is back in time the leadership is overbaring and disrecptable to the paents and others. The office staff has a job and thats how it's comes across the others who visit this school.

I had two children attend this school. My oldest child had the most wonderful experience. She loved going to school each day to learn and looked up to her wonderful teachers. Then a change in administration occured, and it seemed to me the culture of the school changed. Perhaps this is due to so many of the 'fun' teachers leaving. Needless, to say my youngest didn't look forward to going to school, and I didn't feel as comfortable in the school as I once had. Hey we got through it!

My child attended bartlett for 2 yrs. And had an average experience. I agree that this school lacks the ability and care in attending to children with special needs. The front office staff are terrible at dealing and welcoming everyone especially the children. This is your job...If you don't like it find something else to do!

After being at Bartlett for almost 3years the office staff has not improved. Try saying 'please' and 'thank you' to the students. The office tone to the chilren is very condesending and rude. This is our future, why are we so hatful to the kids? If you dont like your job, go home and spar us all the drama Its a shame the school lost so many of the districts best teachers last year. Best of luck to those who have decided to stay.

The front staff is still not as friendly as they should be to parents or the children. Not the school if you have a child with special needs. Not the school if you want to be involved.

Bartlett was one of the best schools in the district. Every grade level had master teachers preparing each student for the following year. This school year 2007 about 18 of those excellent teachers that made Bartlett great are leaving. I am relieved that my child no longer attends there. I would consider a zone variance to another school. Best of luck to all those outstanding teachers who are leaving or who have left and God bless the ones staying.

I love this school! My daughter is in 1st Grade, and this is her first year at Bartlett. I really appreciate the fact that her teacher is well-organized, and really works with me to help my child do her best. Also, everyone from the principal to the office staff to the parents directing traffic are really friendly. Wonderful school, I would definitely recommend it.

Bartlett is a good school that achieves high in the state. There is a lot of parent involvement. The curriculum is determined by the CCSD and is good for the mediocre student. The GATE program is really good just wish it was an all day program as the principal doesn't promote advanced learning, and prefers that teachers direct their lessons to the average student with extra help to the struggling students.

I, too, think that Bartlett is a wonderful school. My child attended the school for 3 years and now is moving on to junior high. I found the entire staff and facility to be helpful and accomadating. During enrollment, I had some special circomstances, and was completely met with sencitivity and helpfulness. I really enjoyed the personality of the office. We will miss everyone.

In our relocation the commitment to finding a quality school with high standards was a priority. Bartlett E.S. was highly recommended based on the student standardized testing scores as well as quality of instructional staff. Classroom academic content is consitent in delivery and is measured on a regular basis. Homework assignments are appropriate and challenging. The school could benefit from a second language program as well as hospitality training for the school's main office with regard to welcoming new parents/students rather than giving an rude, inappropriate and unprofessional impression.

We are extremely happy with Selma Bartlett Elementary. We moved here from another state and were shocked to find out how far behind our children were. With the help and encouragement of the teachers, our sons were able to catch up quickly. The homework that is sent home is a lot, but they learn a ton. My kids maybe spend 30-45 minutes a night on it. The teachers are the best, and they encourage and help the students achieve their highest potential. The principal has a great relationship with the kids, and really cares about them and their successes. I also agree that the front office staff needs to be a little friendlier, but if you can get past them, this is the best place your kids could go to school. I cannot say enough possitive things about this school, its principal, the nurses, and teachers. Thank You Selma Bartlett Elementary.

We too moved to this neighborhood so my children could attend Bartlett. We have never regretted that decision. The staff and teachers are very good and easy to work with. They encourage the parents to help out and the PTO works hard to encourage volunteer work. Such strong parent involvement is very helpful to the school and the students. I would highly recommend this school to anyone interested. The homework load can occasionally be challenging but we have been able to keep up with this.

We moved to the neighborhood specifically to attend this school and we were not disappointed. We feel that Bartlett has all the qualities that a great school should have. Our experience has been a positive one. There are many opportunities to shine. Science fairs, inventions, great work on behalf of the teaching staff to support and encourage the children to strive while enjoying the process. The workload is a lot, but it's do able because of the current plan, which is that homework is due on Friday instead of every evening. This gives the family the opportunity to spread the work through the week. For busy families, this strategy is really quite wonderful. The only slight negative that we, as well as many parents have, is that the front office does not always represent the school in a manner that befits such a great place. We believe that the front office is the portal to the school and we also believe that 1st impressions are very lasting, so it's been a little disconcerting that the front office seems to be so negative in it's dealings with not only the children, but the parents. A smile and a friendly demeanor would be just the ticket to bring the school to complete and total perfection. I think everyone can truly say that when people (whether children or adult) feel warmly welcomed, they would tend to be much more generous with their time and of themselves. Hope this is helpful.
