Customer Reviews

Prime price for a non prime steak!

I looked at all the reviews before making a reservation and thought some of the negative reviews had to do more with price than the quality of the steak. Let's make this perfectly clear for anyone searching for quality beef first, price and service second. There is a reason you do not see Prime in the name of the restaurant. While this Steakhouse may have received many positve reviews, take it from my experience this is select or choice beef. It is certainly not Prime. The price however is Prime. I have without question had better steaks grilled on my home grill and consistently have gotten better steaks at Outback. If I am going to pay $44.00 for a Porterhouse, their 'Signature' steak, I expect a Prime steak. I did pay $48.00 for a New York Strip at Mortons in St. Louis a month before Vegas and you know are definitely getting a Prime steak at Mortons. I elected this restaurant to avoid the national chain steakhouses. I would recommend the reliable Ruths Chris, Del Friscos or Mortons chain restaurants or look for Prime in the name of the restaurant. Rest assured I will never make the mistake of going to "The Steakhouse' ever again. Cannot express the disappointment of the steak! Grissle, tough...................... aggravates me to even think about it. Do yourself a favor and don't go here unless service is all you care about. Service was excellent.

Pros: Service

Cons: Not a Prime cut of beef, tough, over priced

Not a good value

I read the online reviews and decided on the Circus Circus Steakhouse because the reviews stated the steak is good and the prices are reasonable. I was surprised to see prices of ~ $40 per item. It was a bit more than what I was looking to pay but hung in there expecting quality steaks. I got the Porterhouse and my wife got the NY Strip. The steaks were served with rice and veggies. I thought the steaks were overcooked and overall the steaks were not that soft or juicy. The quality is better than that at a place like Outback but well short of my expectations especially at the price. I've cooked steaks on my grill that were far better.

Pros: Friendly Service

Cons: Average Steak, Pricey

Great experience 3/4 of the times

Circus Circus Steakhouse is not what one would expect when you think of Circus Circus Hotel. My wife and I have ate here four times, with only one time not being as good as we hoped. The NY Strip and Rib eye have both been very good, and prices are quite reasonable considering the other alternatives. The cooking area is located in the center of the restaurant with glass partitions all the way around it so you can watch the chefs in action. The dining area is moderately lit which makes a fairly romantic experience. Each time we have ate here it has been busy, and we had reservations. We have not encountered a problem with over abundance of kids that seems to be the norm for the rest of Circus Circus hotel. Overall, this has become of our choices places to go to when we visit Vegas.

Pros: Good Food and Service

Cons: Maybe lacking consistency on food quality
