Postrio reinvents the "bar and grill" concept
New happenings at Wolfgang Puck’s award-winning restaurant at the Venetian are celebrating just how hip it is to be Square. Besides changing its name, from Postrio to Postrio Bar & Grill, the eatery recently unveiled its innovative approachable dining concept combined with fun, taking advantage of its location within the festive St. Mark’s Square in the hotel’s Grand Canal Shoppes.
Guests can now have a front-row table on Postrio’s patio from which they can be party to the carnival atmosphere and entertainment taking place while enjoying the restaurant’s reinvention of the traditional “bar and grill” model. Featured is Puck’s interpretation of American bar and grill food that can be enjoyed as a casual fine dining experience.
Or, if they prefer, patrons can eat inside the restaurant in the newly remodeled dining room. The contemporary décor is highlighted by a relaxing rich color palate of chocolate brown, white plaster, rosewood and olive-green leather “
Postrio has long been one of our most popular restaurants within our dining collection, and we saw this as a prime opportunity to expand our reach to new customers and refresh the experience for our existing ones,” said Tom Kaplan, senior managing partner of the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group. “This new bar and grill concept truly makes Postrio more accessible and affordable for everyone and provides guests with a casual and creative yet sophisticated meal.”
Offering soups, salads, small bites, wood-oven baked pizzas and calzones, handmade pastas, a selection of entrees and meats, and mesquite-grilled fish, all from Executive Chef Mark Sandoval, the new menu is updated seasonally. A wide range of modern American favorites are offered at lunch and dinner and there are nightly chef selections.
New signature dishes include the Prime Burger with Vermont cheddar and red onion marmalade; the Lobster Club Sandwich with Apple Wood smoked bacon; Puck’s famed wood-oven baked pizzas including the House Made Pepperoni Pizza with Olives; Sautéed Maine Crab Cakes with tomato relish and basil aioli; Bucatini and Meat Balls with spicy tomatoes; Beer Battered Fish and Chips with tartar sauce and cole slaw, and Prime Ribeye Steak with Trumpet mushrooms and brandy mustard sauce.
The bar offerings at the new “bar and grill” act as the perfect complement to Postrio’s new, casual concept. In addition to its full bar, the menu features a distinctive list of domestic and international beers, more than 15 wines by the glass, and classic cocktails.
