Under the auspices of famed Michelin three-star French chef Guy Savoy, the United States has opened its very first Krug Room.

Krug Rooms are private dining rooms in exclusive locations around the world where groups can gather to enjoy superb cuisine, stimulating conversation and, of course, the exceptional Krug champagne, one of the world's premier brands.

On June 5, the House of Krug and and Restaurant Guy Savoy opened the Krug Room at Caesar's Palace. Krug Rooms have been proven successes in London, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Lake Geneva, Switzerland. Now add Las Vegas to that list!

When guests arrive at the Restaurant Guy Savoy — Savoy's only restaurant in the United States — they're escorted into the Krug Room via a discreet door at the end of a sleek wooden hallway, which exemplifies Krug’s reputation for surprise and discovery. The spacious room offers glamour, intimacy and privacy and is appointed with contemporary art and elegant Krug-brand accessories. The House of Krug was established in 1843 by Johann-Joseph Krug and remains in the hands of the Krug family.

While the Krug Room offers the full range of Krug champagnes — Krug Grande Cuvée, Krug Rosé, Krug Vintage, Krug Collection and Krug Clos du Mesnil — the pairing menu changes seasonally. One of the year-round mainstays, however, is the restaurant’s iconic Artichoke with Black Truffle Soup, which contains truffles, toasted mushroom brioche and black truffle butter.

“Before putting a new item on the menu, we make sure that it is perfectly ready,” says Frank Savoy, Guy’s son and the general manager of  Restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesar's. “My dad’s food is very simple. For him, the simpler the better. My father respects all produce, fish and meat, and he loves cooking with black truffles and white truffles when they’re in season. Everything is fresh.”

Currently, the only Krug “Picnic” Trunk in the United States is on display at Restaurant Guy Savoy. The legendary trunk is crafted for Krug by Pinel & Pinel in Paris and has everything necessary for a summer picnic — if you're exceptionally well-heeled.

It features a chic collection of culinary and beverage accessories that might be associated with royal picnics — including three bottles of champagne, champagne glasses, champagne flutes, two stools, mother-of-pearl caviar spoons, a truffle shaver and an ice bucket. The trunk itself converts into a table.

Taking 700 hours to make by hand, the trunk bears the Krug signature in nickel-plated lettering on its door.

For reservations, call  (877) 346–4642. For groups of eight or more, call (702) 967–4000.
