Rockhouse Bar & Nightclub rocks the Strip
It’s a dive. It’s a party. it’s a super new concept on the Las Vegas Strip.
Combining the local dive bar with the glamor of Sin City’s party scene, the Rockhouse Bar & Nightclub, which opened in March 2009, is the first and only ”ultra dive bar” on the Strip.
Part nightclub and part walk-up bar, it is a playground for party-goers, complete with state-of-the-art lighting, sound, and Las Vegas DJ’s spinning a blend of upbeat rock, hip-hop and dance spun by Las Vegas DJ’s.
“We’ve managed to bridge the gap between dive bar and nightclub — while maintaining a vibe that’s loud, out of control and contagious to locals and tourists alike,” says owner Jonathan Fine.
Like its distinctive double-edged persona, Rockhouse’s prime location in front of the Imperial Palace gives the venue a dual function: Visitors can come to stay and play. Sightseers can swing by and enjoy the two-for-one beer specials or enjoy a drink and a brief respite at either the main bar or the walk-up daiquiri bar before continuing their walk down the famed Las Vegas Boulevard.
Specializing in frozen daiquiris and renowned across the city for over-the-top novelty cups, Rockhouse gives patrons an opportunity to rock out while drinking from their custom 80-ounce guitar cups — and then take the cups home.
Still, this nightlife hybrid offers more that convenient locale and drink specials. There’s also plenty of “eye candy,” giving folks another reason to hang around for a while.
Even when on the fly, guests will be enticed by the beautiful bartenders playing in the giant birdcage, pouring drinks from the bar tops, and dangling from tire swings suspended from the ceiling.
If relaxing is the name of the game, Rockhouse is a terrific venue for enthusiasts who want to sit back and enjoy their favorite sports on a plasma TV with an 18-foot screen. Room rentals are available for private functions and corporate events.
The Rockhouse originally opened in 2006 as Beacher’s Rockhouse, but quickly transitioned to The Rockhouse Bar & Nightclub with Jonathan Fine as sole proprietor. The change resulted in this completely new type of edgy, rock ‘n’ roll-inspired venue.
