Call it Human Nature — the first new show to hit the Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino's stage in 25 years, that is. Human Nature, Australia’s hottest vocal group, perform Motown’s greatest hits in "Smokey Robinson Presents Australia’s Human Nature — The Ultimate Celebration of Motown."

Human Nature began a one-year headlining deal at the Imperial Palace May 23. Composed of four talented young men — Toby Allen, Phil Burton, Andrew Tierney and Michael Tierney — the group offers distinctive and dynamic harmonies, both a cappella and with a six-piece band. That's what led Smokey Robinson to take the group under his wing. The quartet has toured with Céline Dion and Michael Jackson and has seen multi-platinum albums, 17 Top 40 hits and five Top 10 hits in Australia since 1996.

”In their area of the world, these guys are like the Beatles,” says Motown icon Smokey Robinson, who reveals that he’ll make periodic surprise appearances in the show. “They are getting ready to take the U.S. by storm.

Robinson said hea heard about the group when it was recording a new albym and asked him to join them on "Get Ready" and "Tears of a Clown."

"They came into my studio and sang for me a cappella. I was blown away!" Robinson said. "These guys are singers’ singers and also great dancers. Endorsing and presenting them is a matter of pride for me.”

The group has been together for 20 years and has long been a fan of the Motown music, Andrew Tierney said. “We always listened to and loved Motown music and wanted to become as good as the Four Tops, the Miracles and the Temptations. We started out singing acappella. We loved the sound we created together and loved singing together.“

All four credit the lasting quality of Motown to the great melodies, harmonies, energy and the nature of the great songs themselves.
