Hardwood Suite at the Palms offers hoop dreams to the well-heeled
OK, so what in Las Vegas has 10,000 feet (square though they may be) and will have you literally dribbling with excitement over an opportunity to really score — or to bounce back quickly if you don’t?
The answer is the Hardwood Suite at the Palms Casino Resort, almost certainly the only hotel suite in the world with an indoor basketball half-court. Talk about hoop dreams!
The suite is a 10,000-square-foot party room, complete with a locker room, scoreboard and pool table And for anyone who thinks that this is a tall story, it is — the two-level venue is also equipped with three NBA-sized Murphy Beds (longer than the norm for tall guests) as well as two full master bedrooms, a dining area, living media room, Jacuzzi tub and 42-inch plasma TVs.
It’s all designed to make the Hardwood Suite the only game in town (at least where basketball enthusiasts are concerned.)
The best news is that you can gather up your own Dream Team and tailor the experience – which includes your very own team jerseys – to your individual desires.
It’s $25,000 to rent the suite for a night but, of course, it’s extra to throw a customized party that would include such amenities as a fully stocked premium bar, food catering, cocktail servers and security.
And, oh, you won’t want to forget the cheerleaders, who will provide plenty of “eye candy” on the sidelines.
By the way, this wholly made-just-for-you event can include amenities that can bring the cost up to as much as $100,000 a night if that’s your thing.
The whole concept is something akin to being on Fantasy Island. So it should come as no surprise that the Hardwood Suite is located on the third floor of the Palms’ 347-room Fantasy Tower, a $600-million expansion to the property.
The project includes a recording studio, a pool, a 2,400-seat showroom and the adjacent 47-story Palms Place Hotel and Spa in which Jessica Simpson owns a one-bedroom unit.
No matter whom you decide to bring with you and how you choose to design your event, one thing is for certain — the night is guaranteed to be a slam-dunk.
