Best Las Vegas Attractions breaks new ground
Sometimes passing the buck can be a good thing. That’s why one group of Las Vegas attractions has opted to cooperate through a consortium, Best Vegas Attractions, that could be a win for both consumers and the businesses.
Seven Las Vegas attractions have combined resources, databases, marketing dollars and more to form Best Vegas Attractions (BVA). Included are Bodies…The Exhibition at the Luxor Hotel and Casino; Fashion Outlet of Las Vegas in Primm, Nev.; Hard Rock Café, Las Vegas Monorail, Madame Tussaud’s Las Vegas at the Venetian, Papillon Airways Inc. and Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition at the Luxor.
Best Las Vegas Attractions hopes to drive leisure and convention business to consortium members through special offers and discounts. Consumers who patronize participating attractions will save from 15 to 50 percent off regular prices.
“We were all going after the same consumers, practically tripping over one another to secure business,” says Robert Graff, vice president of marketing with Papillon Airways, Inc., which owns GrandCanyon Airlines, GrandCanyon Coaches, GrandCanyon Helicopters and Papillon GrandCanyon Helicopters. "We are like-minded businesspeople and had all thought at one point or another, ‘There has to be a better way to do this.’"
"Ultimately, we realized we are stronger together," Graff says, sharing resources such as advertising, databases and sales strategies. "Through this consortium, we are targeting customers through wholesale and tour operators, travel agents, airline partners, concierges and many more.”
Best Vegas Attractions has developed rack cards discount and referral booklets. The referral program, which officially began in May 2009, provides cash incentives to concierges and front desk representatives, along with discounts to visitors.
More than 40,000 booklets are being distributed to more than 113 resorts. As an incentive to both visitors and tour and travel representatives, the program is designed to save visitors up to $500 while concierge and front desk representatives can receive up to $100 per booklet in cash-back incentives.
“We know visitors who come to Las Vegas are searching for value,” Graff sums up. “Best Vegas Attractions clearly lays out guest options, making it easier than ever to decide what to do while they are in the destination.”
