After three years of entertaining more than 500,000 guests at the Las Vegas Hilton, the show about “the change” has made one.

Menopause The Musical® has moved from Paradise Road to the Las Vegas Strip and now appears nightly in the 350-seat Atrium Showroom at the Luxor Hotel and Casino.

The no-blood, sweat, and tears experience that befalls all women provides the fodder for  song parodies from the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s — notably "Puff, My God, I'm Draggin'" and the disco number, "Stayin' Awake, Stayin' Awake." Filled with optimism and laughter, the show  has been delighting audiences around the world — as far away as South Korea, Israel, the Philippines, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand — for the last eight years. An off-Broadway production ran for more than 1,500 performances.

The Las Vegas cast includes Queen Emily, a vocal powerhouse who was a finalist in last year’s NBC-TV competition America’s Got Talent, as well as Paige O’Hara, the voice of “Belle” in the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast. Also appearing in the revue are Laura Lee O’Connell, Annette Verdolino, Cheryl Spencer, Sandra Benton and Lori Legacy.

You can buy tickets online or by calling (800) 557-7428 or (702 )262-4400. You must be at least 14 years old to see the show.

The musical has come a long way from its modest beginnings on March 28, 2001, when it debuted in a converted perfume shop in downtown Orlando, Fla. It has gone from a small, hilarious revue to a production seen by 9 million people all over the globe.

It was actually a (hot) flash of inspiration, along with a bottle of wine, that inspired writer and producer Jeanie Linders to create the show, intended as a celebration of women who are on the brink of, in the middle of or have survived “the change.” From its initial performance, the show has evolved into a “grassroots” movement, raising awareness of menopause-related issues and raising money to fight ovarian cancer.
