Holly Madison changes the view in 'Peepshow'
Peepshow at Planet Hollywood has a brand new look now that Playboy model Holly Madison, former star of the TV reality show The Girls Next Door, has taken over one of the two lead roles in the adult revue.
The 29-year-old Madison began a three-month run in the production on June 25, replacing General Hospital’s Kelly Monaco as Bo Peep. Excited about being in a Las Vegas production, she calls Peepshow “a modern sexy classic on the scale of a Broadway show.” And while she’ll be displaying her ample curves, one might be surprised to learn that there’s definitely much more to Madison than meets the eye.
“I’m amazed at how perfect the character is for me,” she says. “Bo Peep is very, very shy initially, but she comes out in the last number. She is repressed and timid and, at the end of the show, is sexy and liberated. Both are 100 percent me — even in the opening sequence where she’s sitting and reading with her faithful dog beside her and is then seen drawing hearts on the shower door. My shy side may come as a surprise, but you can see a little of it in Girls Next Door.”
TV viewers got a chance to see yet another side of Madison when she filled in for an injured Jewel on this season’s Dancing with the Stars.
“Dancing with the Stars was the toughest thing I’ve ever done physically in my life,” she admits. “I was a last-minute pinch-hitter, although I had met with the producers previously because I always wanted to do the show. It taught me about picking up choreography really fast. The other contestants had a least a month more to practice than I did.”
As for Madison's past life, Girls Next Door on the E! cable channel traces the exploits of Hugh Hefner and the female residents of the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles. Madison was Hefner's preferred girlfriend, but they broke up in 2008 and she moved out of the mansion after having lived there for seven years.
Now she’s looking forward to this brand-new experience of doing a live show six days a week and of a new camaraderie with the Peepshow cast members.
“I love the cast already,” she says. “This will be fun for me.”
