Tao Beach offers an oasis in the desert
Las Vegas may be 250 miles from the nearest ocean but that hasn't stopped TAO Beach from making waves on the Las Vegas Strip.
At the beach club outside the Venetian, you can relax on chaise lounges or Asian-inspired day beds scattered throughout an 18,000-square-foot oasis. While a DJ spins music, you can enjoying services such as sunglass cleaning, I-Pod rental, or a rub-down from a staff of masseuses.
There is also a 30-foot bar where guests can sip on TAO-tinis and TAO-jitos made with fresh exotic ingredients An extensive appetizer and grill menu from the kitchen of TAO Asian Bistro is available 11 a.m.–4 p.m. daily.
TAO Beach, will even get you where the sun don’t shine, serving up optional European-style bathing in or out of seven luxury cabanas (for rent) with amenities that include air-conditioning, high-definition plasma screen TV with X-box game consoles, a DVD library, WiFi, and customized mini bars.
“TAO Beach is a beach club from 10 a.m–sunset, seven days a week for those 21 and older,” says co-owner Jason Strauss. “On weekends, it acts as the rooftop of the nightclub” — the famed TAO Asian Bistro and Nightclub.
The open-air nightclub features two 14-foot fire columns, high-energy music from resident and international guest DJs, and strategically placed beds perfect for lounging with friends while taking in the action.
Sunset Sessions, featuring acclaimed DJs, is a Sunday night party that starts at 5 p.m. and is designed to end every weekend on just the right note.
TAO Beach recently added hookah to its list of amenities. The ornate smoking devices were procured from around the world, and an onsite hookah master performs the visually stunning ritual of preparing the coals.
A variety of flavor blends, including white peach/vanilla, kiwi /jasmine and guava /raspberry are on the menu. Each shisha tobacco is a tar and nicotine free blend derived from molasses. The first order and preparation is $75 and refills can be purchased for $50.
